This covers finallap.com, the notification list, your FinalLap account, and FinalLap Text Alerts, our text message program. The site is run by FinalLap, LLC.
It is written to be checkable rather than exhaustive. There is no advertising here and nothing is sold to anyone. Where something is not built yet — accounts, payments — this says so rather than describing it as though it were.
1. What We Collect
Signing up for text alerts stores your mobile number, your email if you give one, your answer to the form's one optional question — whether you are here to buy, to sell, or to watch — the IP address and browser the signup came from, which form you used, and the times you opted in and confirmed your number.
That is the whole entry today — no name, no address, no password, no payment details, no ID, nothing about a particular car.
Accounts are not open yet. When they are, an account will add what you put into it and what you do with it — the lots you watch, the bids you place, and anything you send us. This describes them as they are being built.
We also keep the consent wording you were shown. It lives in our source code rather than on your row, so what any signup agreed to is recoverable from the time it was made.
We never see the confirmation code itself — our messaging provider creates it and checks it. Reading the site is measured separately, which is section 3.
2. Mobile Information and Text Messaging
We collect your mobile number only where you give it to us yourself on a signup form at finallap.com, and we use it for two things: confirming the number is yours, and sending you the FinalLap Text Alerts messages you asked for. Section 3 of the Terms of Use describes that program in full.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We do not sell your mobile number, rent it, or hand it to a data broker, an advertiser, or an affiliate.
Reply STOP to any message to withdraw consent, or email team@finallap.com. The messages stop. We keep the record that you opted in — the number, the time, and which form it came from — because we have to be able to show that the messages we sent were asked for.
4. Why We Keep It
Your number: to confirm it is yours, and to send you the texts you signed up for. Your email: to tell you when the first auction is scheduled, and, once accounts exist, to reach you about yours.
The timestamps and the form you used: to show that you asked to be texted, and when. A text message program has to be able to produce that record, so we keep it.
Your answer to what brings you here: to know how many of the people on the list came to buy, to sell, or to watch, which shapes the first lineups and where we tell people about them. It is a category, not a profile, and leaving it blank changes nothing about your signup.
Your IP address: to limit how many signups one address can start, and to block abuse.
None of it is sold, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.
5. Who Else Sees It
Four companies handle this for us and nobody else does. Twilio delivers our text messages and sends and checks the confirmation code. Supabase stores the list. Vercel runs the site and keeps ordinary server logs. PostHog does the analytics. All four are US companies and the site is run from the US.
Each of them handles this only to do that job for us, and none may use it for anything of their own. Your mobile number is stored by Supabase and by Twilio, and passes through Vercel, which runs the code. PostHog never receives it.
Payments are not built yet. When they are, a payment processor will handle card and bank details, and this policy will name it before that happens.
We do not sell your information or share it for advertising, and, as section 2 says, nothing about your text opt-in goes to anyone for marketing.
6. How Long We Keep It
We keep your entry on the text list, and your account once accounts exist, for as long as you have them, and for a reasonable time after so anything outstanding can be settled.
If you reply STOP, the messages stop immediately and we keep the record of both the opt-in and the opt-out. A text message program has to be able to show both.
Analytics sits with PostHog on its own schedule. If FinalLap never launches, we delete the list.
7. Your Choices
Email team@finallap.com to see what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted. A person does it by hand and confirms. Analytics is anonymous, so there is nothing in it tied to you for us to find — a content blocker will stop it if you would rather not be measured.

Some states give residents the right to access, correct, or delete what a company holds, and to opt out of data sales and targeted advertising. We do neither of those. For the rest, the email above is how, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
8. Children, Changes, and Contact
This is for adults. We do not knowingly collect anything from under-18s — email us and we will remove it.
If this policy changes, the new version goes up here with a new effective date.
